Hello, I'm Papuna,

I'm the artist

I never liked reading "about" pages written in third person, like, did you hire a ghost writer for a page?... anyway...

This is not one of those cases when I've been finger painting as long as I remember and expressing myself through artistic expressions... In fact I wanted to be a lawyer as far as I remember growing up. Seemed to have been obsessed with cars tho, for example, I remember being able to identify absolute most makes, and models in the street from like a fender or a light, depending I guess, some designs are more distinct than others.

I started painting in 2008, in Ellensburg, Washington state, u.s.a. - while at the university studying Political Science for bachelor's degree, with a full intention of going to law school after.

Having come back from a semester of study abroad in Paris, France might have had something to do with it ;) especially since this is my first painting:

" Paris "

Oil on 13x15 inch canvas board :

I was driving home one Tuesday evening, and thinking of the smell of oil paint and how I like it, at the same time had

<- that image kind of "stuck" in my mind...

As I drove past the university bookstore, I thought, "why not?"... Popped in there, bought a set of oil paints, brushes, a few canvases, and Here we are however many years later... Definitely not a lawyer...

At some point I decided to devote my time on this earth to pursuits i was actually passionate about/enjoyed doing/loved, instead of what I thought was prestigious, fashionable, or reputable.

So, I painted for a few years, played with cars, and soon enough figured out I was missing an "essential component" - mechanical understanding.

Unlike painting, Automotive has a Giant safety element associated with it, so I went to school for Automotive technology.

Now I feel confident to break the rules creatively where possible, without compromising the safety while enhancing the beauty.
